Your website is a collection of files that must be run on a web server - a computer that is available on the internet, 24/7.
Traditionally, you would hire a computer from a datacentre, and serve your website from it. Many web development companies still use this method.
However, this traditional approach has some disadvantages:
- Limited capacity, if your site was too busy
- Wasted capacity, if your site was mostly quiet
- Inflexible when you need to grow
- Single-point-of-failure
- Relatively expensive
Cloud Computing
Enter Cloud Computing - where your server is virtualised, and hosted on a fabric of physical machines across several datacentres. No longer is there a single point-of-failure, a fixed-sized server, or wastage of resources. The efficiency and reliability gains are so significant that the cost of hosting can be brought down significantly - a win for customers on every measure.
We use Cloud Hosting provider, Joyent’s SmartMachines to provide super high-reliability shared hosting for all of our sites. This gives us the flexibility to host our clients’ websites with excellent uptime on failure-resistant infrastructure at competitive pricing.
Pricing
For all Mini Websites, Standard Websites and Web Applications, hosting starts at $49.95/mo.
If your website requires particularly large amounts of bandwidth, diskspace, or memory, there may be additional costs which we will discuss with you in advance.
